I have attempted over several days to ascertain what Rue would like to receive as a holiday present. Thus far, my efforts have been utterly fruitless. I suspect the same is the case for all of you.

Should you wish to offer it, your assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. If we coordinate our efforts, I am certain we can put together something that would make Rue very happy.

but I did get an answer from them finally! they'd like a wind chime so I've been working on that. maybe we could all decorate one of the dangly parts?

and they like crafts, so anything handmade they'd love. I gave them some pressed leaves glued to paper one time and I thought they might cry. it's still on a wall somewhere I think.

Wind chime, books, flowers. These are all excellent suggestions! My crafting abilities are sadly lacking. They are beloved, but very difficult to shop for...

I am not much of a craftsman, myself. But it is as you say: the work and time put into a gift surely matters infinitely more to them than the end product itself.

Do you have any ideas for appropriate crafts? My limited experience blinds me to the possibilities.

basically the only way to mess this up is to not actually care so you're already doing great! the heart is always your strongest muscle! the harder you care the more reps you get in.

maybe there's something out there you could get and then you and rue make it together? paint a vase to put in your house or something. then it's also like a gift for you so they GOTTA accept it.
